Re-polling after complaints of alleged EVM tampering and webcasting issues
Kolkata: The Election Commission of India has ordered repoll on May 2 at 15 polling stations, including 11 under the Magrahat Paschim assembly constituency and four in Diamond Harbour constituency in South 24 Parganas district, following reports received from the Returning Officers and Election Observers, ECI has said.

These constituencies had gone to poll on April 29 and various complaints were received in these ACs regarding alleged EVM tampering and webcasting.

"After careful consideration of all material circumstances, the commission has declared the poll conducted on April 29, 2026 at these identified polling stations as void under Section 58(2) of the Representation of the People Act, 1951," the ECI stated. The repoll will be conducted on May 2, 2026 (Saturday) from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, ECI said. Meanwhile, a report in relation to complaints relating to Falta assembly constituency is awaited, ECI said.
