In a bid to prevent divide in the minority votes, West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday urged the Muslims to vote for the Trinamool Congress.

Speaking at a rally in minority-dominated Pursurah constituency in Hooghly district, TMC chief, hinting at the Indian Secular Front (ISF), accused the BJP for giving money ‘to a person’ to divide the minority votes.

ISF is a part of Sanyukto Morcha, an alliance which also includes the Congress and the CPM-led Left Front. Mamata Banerjee also accused the BJP of distributing money to the voters across the state.

Lashing out at the Prime Minister for his remarks that he will attend the oath-taking ceremony of the BJP government in Bengal, Mamata Banerjee said, “Only two of the eight phases of the polls are over. How can a PM comment like this!”

She also attacked the PM for asking the administration to prepare a list of proposed beneficiaries for the PM Kishan Nidhi scheme. Mamata Banerjee alleged that Union home minister Amit Shah is controlling the Election Commission.
