West Bengal polls: Mamata Banerjee always plays victim card politics, says Amit Shah

Kolkata: Amit Shah on Saturday lashed out at Mamata Banerjee over infiltration and the SIR issue, accusing her of playing the “victim card”. He said that in no other state, including opposition-ruled Tamil Nadu and Kerala, has the Supreme Court of India needed to appoint judicial officers for adjudication, nor have similar court cases arisen elsewhere.

Shah said that weeding out infiltrators and freeing Bengal and India is a declared agenda of BJP. Amit Shah on Saturday slammed Mamata Banerjee over alleged infiltration, appeasement politics and corruption, accusing the state government of allowing infiltrators to be included in voter rolls. He also released a “white paper” targeting the All India Trinamool Congress government in West Bengal.

Shah further asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party would come to power with a majority and said the party would establish its rule across “Ango-Bongo-Kalinga” — referring to Bihar, West Bengal and Odisha.


Shah asserted that BJP will come to power with a majority in Bengal.

Slamming Banerjee over keeping infiltrators as vote bank in the state, Shah said, “Whenever, the election happens, ECI conducts a reshuffle. All the officials in Bengal had become the Trinamool cadres in the state.”

"Banerjee blames the BSF for illegal infiltration but despite multiple initiatives by me and the Home Secretary, her government did not provide the land required for fencing. Shah said after coming to power, the BJP within 45 days from that land allotment process for border fencing will be completed,” the union Home minister said.
