Speaking in Bhabanipur, Banerjee said voters who were standing in queues till the close of polling hours must be allowed to cast their ballots.
“Those who are standing in line till 6 pm must be allowed to vote. CRPF cannot torture people like this. There is no state police present. Instead of securing the borders, CRPF is securing one political party. I am sorry to say…” she said.

Her remarks came amid the final phase of polling in the state, where allegations and counter-allegations over the role of central forces have been a recurring theme.
The deployment of central forces, including the CRPF, is overseen by the Election Commission of India to ensure peaceful voting, particularly in sensitive constituencies.
