“I will urge all electors to maintain peace as it is a democratic process,” Agarwal urged the people of Bengal to maintain peace even after poll results and congratulated people for voting in large numbers in this time's election.
“The central forces will stay after the election after polls. More than 500 companies will stay in the state,” Agarwal said.“There is no violence in Bengal and no deaths in this election,” Agarwal said.
“We have instructed the DMs not to allow victory rallies from today evening. These rallies should not happen today. We urge everyone to stay away from violence,” Agarwal said. However, if there are any victory rallies, proper permission should be taken from the police authorities.
However, ECI and CEO West Bengal is already keeping close watch to ensure that there is no post-poll violence in West Bengal and major strategies have been chalked out.
Major steps have been taken by ECI which include, 700 companies of CAPFs will continue to remain in WB to ensure to keep control over any kind of post-poll violence, Strict vigil around Counting Centres by CAPF/Police parties, Control Rooms are set up at ECI Headquarters and WBest Bengal-CEO office to continuously monitor the situation on Counting Day and direct immediate action in case of any untoward incident, entry of unauthorised persons into Counting Centres to be prevented by issuing QR code based Photo Identity Cards to election officials/candidates & counting agents etc.
