Bolpur once again went to TMC's kitty with its party candidate Chandra Nath Sinha winning the seat with a margin of over 13,000 votes, the ECI data showed. BJP's Dilip Ghosh secured the second position and got 1,01,727 votes, according to the ECI.

Bolpur is one of the 294 constituencies in West Bengal's Birbhum district. A subdivision-level municipal town located, Bolpur is a general category Assembly constituency and one of the seven segments of the Bolpur Lok Sabha seat. The counting of votes for West Bengal elections began at 8 am.

Trinamool candidate Chandra Nath Sinha, the sitting MLA from Bolpur, has held the constituency for multiple terms and is poised to win again. Bolpur went to the polls on April 23, 2026, and the estimated voter turnout till 7 pm was 93.13%.


West Bengal assembly elections were conducted in two phases on April 23 and April 29. The results of the high-stakes election will be declared on May 4.

TMC's Chandra Nath Sinha won the seat in the 2021 Assembly election by securing 50.58 per cent of the total votes polled. He also won the seat in the 2016 and 2011 Assembly elections on a Trinamool ticket. He was followed by the BJP candidate Anirban Ganguly who received 40.9 per cent of the votes in the last election. This time, the BJP has fielded Dilip Ghosh. Dilip Ghosh is a graduate, the election avidafit data shows, and he has declared advocate as his profession. Rathin Sen is the Congress candidate from Bolpur.

TMC's Chandra Nath Sinha has held the seat multiple times and won it in 2016 and 2011 too after he defeated Tapan Hore of RSP. Bolpur’s electoral track record shows it has remained in the All India Trinamool Congress' (AITC) grip across multiple consecutive elections, highlighting sustained voter backing for the party in the constituency.

Bolpur is a General category Assembly constituency located in West Bengal’s Birbhum district. It is one of the seven Assembly segments that fall under the Bolpur (SC) Lok Sabha constituency. As per the 2010 Delimitation Commission orders, the Bolpur constituency comprises the entire Bolpur municipality, the Ilambazar community development block, and the Raipur Supur, Ruppur, and Sattor gram panchayats under the Bolpur Sriniketan block.
