Bhabanipur Election Results 2026: Mamata Banerjee vs Suvendu Adhikari, who is winning

The latest Election Commission data for Bhabanipur (159) showed Mamata Banerjee losing against BJP's Suvendu Adhikari.

This marks the completion of 19 out of 20 rounds which showed Adhikari winning by over 15,000 votes. In addition to this individual victory for the BJP leader, the statewide trend shows a decisive shift as the BJP crossed the 200-seat mark, comfortably crossing the majority threshold of 148 seats

Suvendu Adhikari told reporters earlier in the day that he would start taking the lead after around the 10th round of counting, pointing towards a consolidation of Hindu voters.


Few constituencies in West Bengal capture the state’s political pulse quite like Bhabanipur — a compact South Kolkata seat that has, over the past decade, become synonymous with incumbent Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s political identity.

Most exit polls have pointed towards a win for BJP in West Bengal, overthrowing the incumbent All India Trinamool Congress Government which has ruled the state for 15 years.

This time, Banerjee was pitted against her former confidant Suvendu Adhikari. Adhikari is the current Leader of Opposition in the Bengal Assembly and emerged victorious in a tightly contested poll from East Midnapore's Nandigram seat in 2021.
