Trinamool supremo and West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee has repeatedly raised objections over the way the special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls was being conducted in the state. Last month, Banerjee had met the CEC and other poll officials in Delhi, along with a few voters whose names have been deleted in the revision exercise.
Trinamool MP Shatabdi Roy also discussed the motion of removal of Gyanesh Kumar at the INDIA bloc leaders meeting on Monday morning and sought support from other Opposition parties. The Trinamool Congress plans to submit the motion in the Rajya Sabha along with several other Opposition parties.
