Banerjee has been attending Trinamool Congress rallies in a wheelchair since her discharge from hospital. The TMC has called the incident a deep rooted conspiracy and blamed the EC and BJP for it.
"Mamata-ji has a leg injury. But it's not known how she got it. Trinamool Congress calls it a conspiracy, but Election Commission says it was an accident. I wish you speedy recovery. Shah began his campaigning for the first phase in which 30 seats go to polls on March 27. Called the Jungle Mahal region, the assembly constituencies in West Medinipur, Jhargram, Purulia and Bankura have a dominance of SC/ST communities, and the BJP did significantly well here in 2019.
Shah also assured the state government employees that his party will implement the Seventh Pay Commission if voted to power.
Earlier, Shah cancelled his meeting in Jhargram, after a snag in his chopper, and instead delivered a virtual speech.
