Kolkata: Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP’s) ‘Poribartan Yatra’ in West Bengal will culminate to Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a huge public rally at the iconic Brigade Parade Ground on March 14, people in the know said.

“This historic gathering will be a powerful declaration of the people's will for change in West Bengal. We urge every citizen of West Bengal to join this landmark rally and be a part of the Poriborton movement that will transform the destiny of our beloved state,” BJP said in a statement.

West Bengal State reaffirmed that its commitment to the people of Bengal through the Poriborton Yatra, a historic movement for change, justice, and development, people in the know said.


Implementation of the 7th Pay Commission

The BJP said if voted to power in West Bengal, they aimed to immediately implement the 7th Pay Commission for all state government employees, BJP said. “The current Trinamool government has deprived lakhs of government employees of their rightful salaries and benefits. Under BJP rule, every employee of the state will receive the revised pay and allowances as mandated by the 7th Pay Commission, ensuring their financial security,” BJP said in a statement.

Restoration of Abolished Government Posts & Mass Recruitment
The Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool government has deliberately abolished lakhs of government posts, pushing Bengal's youth into unemployment and despair. This anti-youth policy will be reversed. “A BJP government will restore all abolished posts in their entirety and conduct transparent, fair, and merit-based recruitment to fill all existing vacancies. Every eligible young person of West Bengal will be given the opportunity to serve the state,” BJP said.

Women’s Empowerment fund
BJP is planning a Rs 5,700 Crore Fund for Women's Empowerment. “The BJP is committed to the safety, dignity, and socio-economic advancement of the women of West Bengal. A dedicated allocation of ₹5,700 Crores will be made for women's empowerment initiatives across the state. This fund will be channelled towards livelihood schemes, skill development, self-help groups, educational support, and comprehensive safety measures for women — ensuring that the women of Bengal are truly empowered, not merely used as vote banks,” BJP said.

Complete Border Fencing & Illegal Infiltration
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has repeatedly emphasized on illegal infiltration and controlling illegal immigration is the prime focus. “The unchecked illegal infiltration across West Bengal's borders poses a grave threat to national security, cultural integrity, and the livelihoods of the people of Bengal. The BJP government will undertake complete and robust border fencing along all vulnerable stretches to seal the state's borders against illegal infiltration. This is not just a security measure — it is a commitment to protect the rights and resources of every legitimate citizen of West Bengal, BJP said.
