Kolkata: Prime Minister Narendra Modi waves to the gathering during a rally, at Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata.
Claiming the “Poribartan” countdown has started in Bengal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said the change has been written on the wall and the era of the “cruel” Trinamool Congress government in Bengal will soon come to an end.

The Prime Minister cautioned that the culprits will be put behind the bars after Bharatiya Janata Party is voted to power and every score will be settled (“chunchun ke hisab liya jaega”). Modi also criticised how Droupadi Murmu was disrespected during her last visit to Bengal, saying it was an insult to the Constitution, the tribal community and women.

Slamming the constitutional head of the state, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, for appeasement politics, Modi said crores of Hindus in Bengal cannot be destroyed or threatened by the Trinamool government. Banerjee had recently said that there is a community which can cause devastation in a minute if they want, but the Trinamool government is stopping that havoc.

Modi said that infiltrators are the biggest threat to Bengal’s “roti, beti and maati” (land, women and soil of Bengal). “The infiltrators are snatching food and the employment of the youth and taking hold of the land, prompting change in Bengal's demography. Bengali Hindus are made minorities in Bengal and appeasement is at work by the Trinamool government. Trinamool opposed citizenship of the Hindu refugees as their vote bank politics is Trinamool's prime importance.”

“The cruel government will end in Bengal. The end of jungleraj, misrule and bad governance will come to an end. Voices rising from various parts of Bengal say that regime change is bound to happen,” the Prime Minister said. “Whenever Bengal shows the path to the country, Brigade becomes the path. Today in Brigade, the new Bengal’s Kranti and tune of change has been blown.”

Modi was addressing a rally at the Brigade Parade Ground, known as a historic ground.

“Yesterday, Trinamool Congress called us the ‘chor’. Who is Asli chor, Bengal’s people know. To stop the rally, the cruel Bengal government tried to stop the BJP workers, vehicles and posters were torn. There is a human Tsunami today. The countdown has started to bring an end to jungleraj. The rule of law is not far away. Trinamool perpetrators will not be spared,” he said.

“The cruel government of Bengal must know that how much force they apply, the ‘Poribartan’ storm will not stop. Ma Durga is blessing BJP. Ramakrishna Paramhansa, Swami Vivekananda, Rishi Bankim, Tagore, Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar, Syama Prasad Mukherjee — all icons of Bengal who have dreamt of Bengal — BJP will reconstruct and make the ‘Naba Nirman’ of this Bengal happen,” Modi reiterated.

Modi proposed to build a Bengal where “vikash with true purpose” and proper policies will unfold. “We don’t have a government here but as a central government we are engaged in Bengal’s development. Today I have inaugurated projects worth Rs 18,600 crore. Four days back, multi-tracking projects were approved by the Bengal cabinet and they will enhance connectivity in Bengal and benefit common people, farmers, businessmen and youth.”
