Kolkata: Pitching for “double-engine government” in Bengal after 2026 assembly polls, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday, charted out a six-point “Modi’s guarantee ” in Bengal from his Haldia public rally, with promise to weed out infiltrators and vowing that all government employees will get the benefits of the Seventh Pay Commission, which will be implemented once BJP is voted to power.

Modi’s guarantee will also ensure that the new BJP government will be accountable to people; and facilitate safety and security to women and all corrupt Trinamool will be punished.

Modi said that the path for change was shown by Nandigram, five years back, and it has paved the path for the entire West Bengal in 2026. “Nandigram victory will be replicated in Bhabanipur.

Speaking about the “Mahishya” community who were deprived from reservation by TMC, PM slammed Trinamool on reservation based on vote bank and appeasement politics. “Court has rejected but appeasement is such a disease, they (TMC) do not accept court order or Constitution. Mahishya samaj is deprived as it is not TMC’s votebank,”PM said.

The PM detailed how India’s pisciculture and seafood production have progressed and almost doubled across the country but Bengal still imports fish from other states.

Modi was speaking in Medinipur, which has a huge number of fishermen community. “Fish production has increased manifold in other states. Even in Bihar, fish production has doubled and they don’t import fishes from other states. Assam has also progressed in fish production under the PM fishermen scheme.”

“We will establish growth and prosperity in Bengal on the basis "faith". This time, the polls are not just a common election. It is making the fundamentals of Bengal strong and the first step will be to change the removal of the “cruel” TMC government from power,” Modi said.

“The country is progressing fast. Fastest growth will happen in West Bengal and many NDA-ruled states are on the path of progress. But TMC’s cruel government is stopping the state from progress but pulling it down,” Modi said.

“The Bengal, which was once the epitome of progress, and gave momentum and strength to manufacturing, has gone down in all parameters of growth and development,” he said. PM also pointed out how the same scenario applies for Haldia, which was historically a famous port, known as “Tamralipta”.
