In a counter attack on the Modi government, Banerjee claimed “Modi came to Bengal and returned quickly after his aerial visit” while she was in Nabanna and monitoring the cyclone situation round the clock.
BJP leaders have been attacking Banerjee and her party for siphoning off money from Amphan relief and other corrupt practices.
“Modi has not given a single penny to us for Cyclone Amphan. We have spent Rs 7,000 crore from our coffers,” she claimed, although the prime minister had provided Rs 1,000 crore Amphan relief.
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath slammed the chief minister for Amphan fund-related corruption.
Meanwhile, Adityanath said in a rally in Chandrakona, “PM Narendra Modi had provided `1,000 cr after Amphan but the money never reached the people, but taken away by TMC leaders.”
Adityanath held a rally in Nandigram where Banerjee is pitted against former TMC leader Suvendu Adhikari, who is now the BJP candidate.
Yogi said people could not reap the benefit of several central schemes like the PM Awas Yojana, Ujjwala scheme, Ayushman Bharat and Kisan Samman Nidhi because of Banerjee.
