Kolkata: Wooing women voters, Rajbonshis and tea garden workers, in her first election rally, kicking off from North Bengal’s Maynaguri, Trinamool Supremo Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday said that ECI-BJP has purposefully deleted the names of women voters from the electoral rolls Bengal SIR.

Banerjee promised that Lakshmir Bhandar will be provided to all women as long as Trinamool Congress stays in power.

Banerjee said, not only women, but other sections like Rajbonshis were targeted and their names also deleted. She urged the women to bring resistance. “People standing in queues for SIR hearing suffered a lot and at least 220 people died.”

She slammed the ECI for releasing the Supplementary List at midnight. Banerjee said that at midnight BJP is known for its (tandav) actions. “We are proud to get freedom at midnight. If they think, the BJP is known for their midnight tandav.”

She expressed apprehensions that agencies will be brought from outside and “chhapa” votes.

She wooed the tea garden workers and all others in North Bengal to vote for Trinamool Congress to get benefits of various social welfare schemes.

Banerjee urged people that Trinamool should be voted—for free health, ration, housing, Lakshmir Bhandar, Swasthya Sathi, Kanyashree and many other schemes. She attacked BJP’s ‘Annapunnar Bhandar’ and said false election promises were made in Bihar.

“After staying in this land for so many years, you have to prove if we are citizens of this country?” Banerjee claimed adding “They have snatched everything from me, I have only one thing-people’s power.”

Banerjee said BJP is anti-Bengali. They beat people for eating meat and fished and decided people’s food.

On CAPF, Banerjee said, “I respect the central forces but please remember manpower is our main power and BJP will not stay at the Centre for long. “Do your work. If you become polling agents for BJP, then women will resist.
