Kolkata: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday that though he enjoyed the "jhalmuri" in Jhargram, Trinamool got a jolt ("jhatka") by the "jhal" (hot taste). Modi gave a strong message on infiltration and Trinamool Congress’s misrule.

“Once we come to power on May 4, sweets and Jhalmuri will be distributed in Bengal,” Modi said, while addressing a poll rally in Krishnanagar.

Modi’s Jhalmuri outreach has become viral and trending in social media.

Without taking name of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who had called Modi’s jhalmuri outreach as “drama”, Modi, without naming CM, said popular Bengali street snack ‘jhalmuri’, during his last campaign rally in the state on April 19 in Jhargram, has jolted Trinamool.

“I heard that my jhalmuri matter jolted some TMC people here. The funny thing is that I consumed Jhalmuri, and the Trinamool Congress "ko jhatka laga”. (felt the jolt),” the Prime Minister said.

Offering prayers to Matua religious icons Harichand Thakur, Guruchand Thakur, PM said that no Matua families or Hindu refugee families will be intimidated after BJP is voted to power. "No one will touch you. The Hindu refugees, who have been persecuted, Modi stands by these people," PM said.

After the formation of the BJP government in Bengal, we will expedite the citizenship certificate and you will get every benefit and scheme that any Indian gets," he said.
