Diamond Harbour Assembly constituency is situated in the South 24 Parganas district and is part of the Diamond Harbour Lok Sabha constituency. The region lies within the Diamond Harbour subdivision, with the town acting as its administrative headquarters.

Diamond Harbour Assembly constituency went to the polls in Phase 2 of the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections on April 29, 2026. The results are scheduled to be announced on May 4, 2026.

In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Pannalal Halder of the All India Trinamool Congress secured 98,478 votes to win the Diamond Harbour Assembly constituency seat, defeating Dipak Kumar Halder of the Bharatiya Janata Party by a margin of 16,996 votes.


A total of 11 candidates were in the fray from the constituency, including Pannalal Halder (TMC), Dipak Kumar Halder (BJP), Pratik Ur Rahaman (CPIM), Golam Ali Sekh (BSP), Sachindra Nath Halder (RPOIA), Monarama Halder (SUCOIC), and others.

In 2016, Dipak Kumar Halder, then contesting on an All India Trinamool Congress ticket, won the Diamond Harbour Assembly constituency with 96,833 votes, defeating Abul Hasnat of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) by a margin of 15,037 votes.
