After Uttarakhand exit polls predict tight race, both Dhami and Rawat sound confident

The exit polls predicted a close race in Uttarakhand, with many of them giving an edge to the BJP to form the government. A few of them also predicted that Congress would finish ahead

A day after exit polls projected a close race in Uttarakhand, both chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Congress leader Harish Rawat made claims will get a majority.

"Exit poll is an exit poll. We know about people's emotions, and they have voted for Congress ...The outcome will be in favour of the Congress," Rawat told ANI on Tuesday.

CM Dhami slammed the Congress leader for rejecting predictions made by exit polls which largely gave the state to the BJP.


"Congress was nowhere in the contest. They had no issues to raise before the people. Now that the elections are over they can blow the trumpet till the results are out, since the BJP will be celebrating victory on March 10," he said

The exit polls predicted a close race in Uttarakhand, with many of them giving an edge to the BJP to form the government. A few of them also predicted that Congress would finish ahead and could cross the halfway mark in the 70-member Assembly.

Times Now Veto Exit Polls projected BJP projected to claim a thin majority in Uttarakhand with 37 out of 50 seats, with Congress getting 31 seats. Aam Aadmi Party is predicted to win just one seat.

News24 Chanakya survey predicted that the ruling BJP would win 43 seats and Congress 24 seats.

India Today-Axis My India exit poll predicted that the BJP would win 36-46 seats and Congress 20-30 seats. BSP, it said, could win two to four seats.

NewsX-Polstrat predicted Congress getting 33-35 seats, BJP 31-33 seats and AAP 0-3 seats.

ABP News-C Voter predicted Congress winning 32-38 seats, BJP 26-32 seats and AAP 0-2 seats.

Polling in Uttarakhand took place on February 14 and the counting of votes will take place on March 10.
