BJP is not going to get less than 350 seats in 2022, says CM Yogi Adityanath
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said he is confident of breaking the jinx in Uttar Pradesh where no CM has been voted to power for a consecutive term over the last 35 years.

“I am coming back. What has not happened in the past 35 years will happen next year,” he said on Wednesday at the Navnirman Manch-Uttar Pradesh by the Times Now Navbharat.

As per the "current trend" the BJP is not going to get less than 350 seats in the 403-member house, CM Adityanath said, adding that the party will fight on the agenda of development and nationalism.

Reacting to Akhilesh Yadav's statement that the Samajwadi Party would win more than 400 seats, he quipped: "He does not know counting. He must have seen on Twitter or his survey team might have told him that they are lagging on 400 seats."

The CM who is facing criticism over his recent “abba jaan” remark, said it was not an "unparliamentary word" and that other parties "who want Muslim votes" are shy of using it.

"They want Muslim votes, why should they shun it? Is it an unparliamentary word? It is not. No one should have any problem with it," he said.

Asked about speculation over a possible change of the chief minister in Uttar Pradesh, after similar moves in Uttarakhand and Gujarat, Adityanath said, "The BJP is a democratic party. It is the biggest party in the country and the world. We believe that the party is more important than a person and the country is more important than the party.

Adityanath also informed the conclave that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will soon inaugurate the Purvanchal Expressway and lay the foundation stone of the Ganga Expressway in Uttar Pradesh.

He said while metro work is going on in full swing in Agra and Kanpur, the metro project reports for Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Allahabad and Meerut are in the pipeline.
