District magistrates of the districts that go to polls in UP in the first phase are conducting meetings with representatives of political parties to communicate to them the elaborate guidelines prescribed by the Election Commission.

DM of Agra, Prabhu Narain Singh, held a virtual meeting of representatives of some political parties on Sunday. He will also hold a physical meeting with them on Monday. "The FAQs of the Model Code of Conduct have already been sent to them. It will further be communicated to them physically. We will also tell them that since the nomination process of candidates is yet to take place, if any physical rally or meeting is held, the district president of that party or the organising committee of the event will be booked for violation if any rally or event is held," said Singh, adding that two FIRs were already lodged on Sunday for violations of MCC.
