New Delhi: While the law and order situation and women's safety under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's regime are likely to remain the central planks of the Uttar Pradesh BJP's election strategy for the 2027 assembly polls, the party is set to put special focus on the achievements of the ruling government over the last decade in the state.

Apart from the construction of various expressways, projects like the "One District One Product" (ODOP), the development of industrial areas and modern infrastructure, and the Mukhya Mantri Yuva Udyami Vikas campaign, the BJP may also seek to highlight the "uniform availability of electricity for more than 18 hours" across all districts, the government's claim of ending 'Mafia Raj', and CM Yogi's "leadership quality" as issues in its favour in the upcoming polls.

In this regard, BJP's top leaders, including national general secretary (Organisation) BL Santosh and national general secretary and in-charge of the UP BJP Vinod Tawde, held marathon meetings over the last two days with functionaries of the UP unit in Lucknow to discuss the election strategy for the assembly polls.

Sources said the leaders also discussed different strategies to counter the main Opposition Samajwadi Party's formula of PDA, which is politically referred to as "Pichchara (OBC), Dalit (SCs) and Alpsankhyak (Minority)."

Sources said the BJP is prepared to hold on to its own political line of Hindutva in the upcoming polls in UP. "The party has nothing to worry about the SP's special focus on the PDA formula ahead of the assembly polls. After the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, the party has tried to correct its existing social base across the state," a source in the BJP said.

BJP's UP chief spokesperson, Dinesh Pratap Singh, said the party continues to stick to its basic mantra of "Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas" for the upcoming polls, addding, the party and its government always ensure that the benefits of all government schemes reach everyone without any discrimination.
