Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said the Rajya Sabha polls have set the tone for the 2027 Assembly elections, asserting that the “80 versus 20” political battle is back, with 80% of voters backing the NDA and 20% the opposition’s PDA.
"The Rajya Sabha election (nominations) in Uttar Pradesh showed what the result of the Assembly election is going to be. The 80 versus 20 fight has returned. Eighty per cent is with the NDA and 20 per cent with the PDA, and what is going to happen to the PDA will again be before you," Adityanath said while addressing the "Seva Jyoti Yatra-Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sabha" in the state capital.
His remarks came a day after eight BJP candidates filed their nominations for the 10 Rajya Sabha seats from Uttar Pradesh, while the Samajwadi Party nominated only two candidates.
