Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said the poor people of Uttar Pradesh were firmly supporting the BJP as the government is continuously working to make their lives easier. He said the BJP did not discriminate on the basis of caste and religion while offering facilities and welfare measures for women whereas the previous governments remained blind to their woes.

On Akhilesh Yadav's consistent remarks that only those who have families can understand people's pain, Modi said for him the entire state and country was his family.

Modi addressed mega rallies in Barabanki and Kaushambhi, both of which will vote in the fifth phase on February 27. Modi said dynast politicians never gave the state an opportunity to openly show its capability. "Parivaarwadis always wanted the poor to remain at their feet and keep coming to them for help. The BJP worries about the poor and works to lessen difficulties in their lives which is why the poor is standing firmly in support of the BJP and blessing it," he said.

"Be it giving toilets in houses and schools, gas connections, water and power connections, aid during pregnancy...all facilities given by us to women have been free of considerations of caste and religion. The biggest advantage has been to our Dalit and Muslim sisters," Modi said.
