Budaun 2024 Lok Sabha polls results: Who is winning, Durvijay Singh Shakya or Shivpal Singh Yadav? Here are details?

One of the 80 constituencies of Uttar Pradesh, Budaun which was the Samajwadi Party's safe bet was taken away when 2019 Lok Sabha polls saw BJP defeat SP's Dharmendra Yadav.

Just before the country starts the polling exercise, this constituency has been the center of a gruesome murder. Two children were hacked to death on Tuesday in Badaun's Baba Colony. Following this, one of the accused involved in the incident was killed in an encounter with the police. After the incident came to light, SP on Wednesday slammed Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government over Budaun double murder accusing BJP of carrying such incidents to create religious disputes among people.




Budaun 2024 Lok Sabha polls: Date
The constituency is part of Phase 3, and the voters casted their vote on May 7. Lok Sabha polls in Uttar Pradesh was held in 7 phases from April 19 and the counting of votes will be done on June 4. The first phase of polling was held on April 19, followed by April 26, May 7, May 13, May 20, May 25 and June 1.

Budaun 2024 Lok Sabha polls: Candidates
BJP, the party which currently holds power in the constituency is yet to field its candidate. The SP won the Badaun Lok Sabha seat in 2014 but lost it to the BJP in 2019. The party, led by former chief minister Akhilesh Yadav, is eyeing to reclaim the seat by fielding Shivpal Singh Yadav instead of Dharmendra Yadav.

Talking to reporters during the 'Jan Sampark (public relations) Yatra', Shivpal Singh Yadav stressed, "Badaun has been the stronghold of Samajwadi Party...from here 'Netaji' (Mulayam Singh Yadav), Professor Saheb (Ram Gopal Yadav) and Dharmendra have been MPs. Now I have come."

On the other hand, BJP has given a ticke to Durvijay Singh Shakya.
