BSP will not tie up with BJP to form government, '200%', says party secretary Satish Mishra
Mishra's statements come in light of reports that the BSP might consider a post-poll alliance with the current ruling party if a clear majority didn't show. To add to the rumours, the BSP has tied up with the BJP in the past.

Senior BSP leader Satish Chandra Mishra said his party would form a government with a majority, on their own.
"We will neither form an alliance with any other party nor take support. We would prefer to sit in the opposition," Mishra told PTI.
Mishra's statements come in light of reports that the BSP might consider a post-poll alliance with the current ruling party if a clear majority didn't show. To add to the rumours, the BSP has tied up with the BJP in the past.
"The BSP is forming its government in 2022 with a full majority. In case of any other scenario arising after the elections, we will never go with the BJP and this is 200 per cent final," Mishra added.
BSP's past alliances:
- 1993: Alliance with Samajwadi Party, pulled out in 1995, tied up with BJP to form government.
- 1997: Coalition with the BJP
- 2002: Coalition with the BJP
- 2007: No alliance, formed government on its own.
"The Muslims have already seen Mayawati's government and know how safe they were then," Mishra told PTI, in an apparent reference to All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen leader Asaduddin Owaisi.
Mishra claims there is a trend of leaders coming from other states during elections to target Muslims in Uttar Pradesh.
