BJP holds review meetings to assess UP poll performance

With the final phase of Uttar Pradesh elections scheduled for Monday, BJP has started review meetings within the party to estimate its performance in the state.

It started with the meeting of general secretaries and state in-charges on Sunday at party headquarters in the national capital. The meeting was chaired by BJP national president JP Nadda.

BJP UP election in-charge Dharmendra Pradhan headed for Lucknow from Varanasi once the campaign was over on Saturday. He along with state BJP president Swatantra Dev Singh and state BJP general secretary Sunil Bansal held a meeting of senior leaders discussing their inputs on voting till the sixth phase and preparation for the seventh phase. Within the state, the party candidates are meeting district presidents and assembly in-charge to get a detailed report on voting and the party's prospects in their constituencies. In this series, deputy UP CM Keshav Prasad Maurya chaired a meeting with booth workers of Sirathu, the assembly seat he was contesting from. The BJP district president of Kaushambi also presented a report on the voting.


For the past few months, workers from several other states had been camping in UP to manage the party's campaigns. With the election now getting over, most of the workers have returned to their states. The general secretary and state in-charge of the party will now conduct a meeting with those workers in the next two days. BJP general secretary in-charge of Maharashtra, Goa and Tamil Nadu will conduct one meeting each in Goa and Mumbai to collect the feedback from party workers.
