“We have made it clear that the AAP will fight elections on all 403 assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh and not form alliance with any other party,” Sanjay Singh, the party's Uttar Pradesh unit in-charge, told reporters earlier this week.
Singh was joined at the press conference announcing the decision by Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister, Manish Sisodia, who laid down the gauntlet for the Bharatiya Janata Party, who are currently ruling in the northern state.
"The people of the Bharatiya Janata Party talk about nationalism, but when it comes to providing good education to the people in the state, they are seen misusing the mid-day meal funds," said Sisodia, referring to an investigative report by a local journalist.
Sisodia is leading the Delhi based party's slew of 'Tiranga Yatras’ in the poll-bound state, with two events kicking off in Lucknow and Agra, while another is likely to set off from Ayodhya this month.
The Aam Aadmi Party has said it will announce the candidates for Uttar Pradesh in the next 15 days, adding that a list of 120 was already prepared.
State party chief, Singh, said that their party would expose the 'fake nationalism' of the BJP, and showcase 'real nationalism' instead.
