Manik Saha to be Tripura CM again, elected as leader of BJP legislative party
Manik Saha is set to continue as the chief minister of Tripura for the second term. The 70-year-old was unanimously elected as the leader of BJP's newly elected legislators in Tripura on Monday. He will take oath in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 8.

The BJP won 32 seats in the 60-member state assembly for which elections were held on February 16. Saha was picked to lead the North-eastern state even as a section of the newly elected legislators were in favour of his replacement by Union minister of state for social justice and empowerment Pratima Bhoumik.

Before he became the chief minister last year, replacing Biplab Kumar Deb, Saha was a Rajya Sabha MP and the party’s state unit chief.

BJP national president JP Nadda and several Chief Ministers of BJP ruled states are expected to join the swearing in ceremony.
