In a significant political twist, the Congress party has clinched a majority by securing 60 seats (as of 11:30 am) in the southern state of Telangana on Sunday, positioning itself to form the government. Notably, Congress candidate Revanth Reddy has emerged as a formidable force, leading in the crucial Kamareddy constituency and challenging his opponent, KCR.

Despite K Chandrashekhar Rao's Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) facing setbacks in the 119-seat Telangana Assembly, the party leader himself is leading in the Gajwel constituency. Gajwel, a pivotal area within the Medak Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency, holds significance as the stronghold of the incumbent Chief Minister Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao, popularly known as KCR.

Having secured victories in Gajwel during both the 2014 and 2018 Assembly polls, KCR is well-acquainted with success in this region. In other key constituencies, Congress' Uttam Kumar Reddy leads by 5,000 votes in Huzurnagar against BRS' Saidi Reddy Shanampudi. Meanwhile, BJP MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar is trailing in Karimnagar.

Initial trends from the Election Commission of India indicate that KCR's nephew Harish Rao is leading in Siddipet, while in Jubilee Hills constituency, BRS candidate Maganti Gopinath is ahead of Congress leader Mohammad Azharuddin.
