Kanniyakumari constituency result: What happened in the past?
Currently held by chief minister MK Stalin-led the DMK, the seat has historically swung between the incumbent ruling party and its main rival, the AIADMK, the two Dravidian parties that have dominated the state’s politics since the 1960s. The current MLA from Kanniyakumari is AIADMK’s Thalavai Sundaram, who won the 2021 assembly election by defeating DMK’s S Austin by over 16,000 votes.
