The TMC has been given five seats - Othakadai, Erode, Ranipet, Kilvelur and Kumbakonam - and the IJK two seats, Pallavaram and Kunnam. The TMMK and the Puthiya Bharatham Party have been allotted one seat each - Rajapalayam and K.V. Kuppam, respectively.

"All remaining constituencies will be contested by the AIADMK," Palaniswami said.

Earlier in the day, the AIADMK also announced its first list of 23 candidates, which included party general secretary Palaniswami who will once again contest from his home turf of Edappadi in Salem district as well as a host of former ministers.
