BJP plays down AIADMK stand on CAA
The BJP leadership has taken a cautious move on the anti-CAA stand adopted by AIADMK in Tamil Nadu. The party is contesting 20 seats in the alliance with the ruling AIADMK in the state.

“We will explain to the AIADMK about how the CAA will not affect the minorities in India,” CT Ravi, BJP national general secretary in-charge of Tamil Nadu told ET. “There is absolutely no clash between the AIADMK and BJP on the subject.”
BJP doesn’t agree to what AIADMK has said but feels that if there are any wrinkles in the relationship that will be ironed out when the parties sit together to discuss things.
The AIADMK has demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should address at least four more rallies as part of the campaign in the state. Modi has already addressed one rally in Coimbatore. BJP is now planning to organise one rally each in Kanyakumari, Ramanathapuram, Madurai and Chennai, said people aware of the matter. They said that while the dates for the rallies have not been finalised yet, the programme would be such that along with Tamil Nadu the PM would address rallies in Puducherry or Kerala on the same day.
During these rallies, Tamil Nadu chief minister EK Palaniswami will also be present to show unity among the two parties
“We are reaching out to the voters with a common agenda of development,” Ravi added.
