JAIPUR: The ruling BJP is planning to target beneficiaries of its various government schemes to garner votes in the upcoming elections. The party has identified at least 5 beneficiaries of different schemes to create video messages, which can be later circulated among public through its Information Technology (IT) cell. Party’s district coordinator of IT cell Rajendra Gautam told ET that the video would be shared on all the social networking platform including Facebook and Instagram.

“When it comes from horse’s mouth, people tend to believe. These beneficiaries are the brand ambassadors of the welfare schemes of the BJP government,” he said.

The party will also launch a three-day door-to-door campaign from Friday for reaching out to the beneficiaries and request them to vote for BJP. Senior BJP leader Sanjay Jain said that the party has given every worker including MLAs, ministers and corporators a target of tapping at least 10 beneficiaries in their respective areas and encourage them to vote for the party.

“Party workers would be given a kit which contains welfare schemes launched by the state and the central governments. They would then apprise beneficiaries and their family members about the work done by BJP before appealing them to vote,” he said.

The party is looking at continuing the momentum till general elections next year. BJP chief Amit Shah, in his visit to the state last month, has called upon party workers to approach the public with positive mindset and communicate them directly all ‘good work’ party has done.

“We are identifying beneficiaries at booth level. We have to conquer every booth to make party win. If this works well in the assembly elections, we will ask our workers to continue the rhythm,” said a senior BJP leader.
