Rahul Gandhi promises loan waiver in 10 days of government

JAIPUR: Congress chief Rahul Gandhi on Monday promised farm loan waiver in 10 days if his party is voted to power in Rajasthan. He said that he has implemented the same in Karnataka and Punjab.

“I am not here to make false promises. You can call up farmers in Punjab and Karnataka to verify what I have said,” he said.

Gandhi addressed three rallies at Pokhran, Jalore and Jodhpur.


Launching a scathing attack on PM Narendra Modi, he said that the PM is working in the interest of few industrialists and has waived Rs 3.5 lakh crore of 15 industrialists.

“Modiji never says in his speeches when he will bring Mehul Choksi and Nirav Modi to India... Before fleeing, Mallya met Jaitley and Jaitley let him flee. This is Modi’s fight against black money,” he said.

Hitting out at Modi, he said that Modi has announced to bring bullet train for 2-3 lakh people at the expense of Rs 1 lakh crore and that the annual budget of Railways is Rs 1.2 lakh crore.

“Modiji works for a handful of people only. Indian Railways should be named Adani Railways,” he said.

Talking about Rafale, Gandhi said that Modi brought in Anil Ambani into the deal after escalating the price of the fighter plane.

“Ambani has a debt of Rs 45,000 crore. Despite that he has been given contract of thousands of crore in Rafale deal. Modiji should name Indian Air Force as Ambani Air Force,” he said.
