Harish Meena left BJP to join the Congress.
In a major setback to the BJP, its Lok Sabha member from Dausa and former top cop of Rajasthan Harish Meena has left the party to join the Congress. In 2014 election, he had defeated his elder brother and former Union minister of state in Manmohan Singh government Namo Narain Meena, who came third in the contest.

Kirodi Lal Meena, who was the runner-up in the 2014 battle of “Meena supremacy” said there will be no impact of Harish Meena joining the Congress.

“Harish Meena was in Congress earlier. People know that he is an opportunist. He joined the BJP to become an MP and now he has left the party,” said Kirodi Lal Meena, who joined the BJP early this year and is now a Rajya Sabha member. Meena’s induction in BJP is likely to help the party balance the caste equation between Gujjars and Meena considering Pilot, one of the party’s chief ministerial candidates, is contesting the election.
