Rahul Gandhi will visit poll-bound Mizoram on October 16

Guwahati: With Mizoram going to assembly polls, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will be visiting poll-bound state on October 16. He will be there for two days.

AICC Media Coordinator & Mizoram In-charge, Mathew Anthony said, "Rahul Gandhi will be in Mizoram from 16-18 October. On October 16, Rahul Gandhi will be interacting and walking along with the people of Mizoram from the Chandmari junction to the Treasury Bhawan."

The AICC leader also claimed that Rahul Gandhi will return to Delhi on October 18. Congress was voted out of power in 2018 by the Mizo National Front (MNF).


The EC has announced that voting for the 40 assembly seats in Mizoram will be held on November 7.

The chief Electoral officer Mizoram Madhup Vyas stated as per the finally published electoral roll, there are 4,12,969 male electors, 4,38,925 female electors, 4,973 service electors and the total electors in the State of Mizoram is 8,51,895.

Aizawl has the highest number of electors with 286807, while Hnahthial district has the lowest 16294 electors. There are 1276 polling stations in Mizoram where elections will be conducted. Elaborate security arrangement based on the assessment of the ground situation has been put into place wherein around 450 Section of Central Armed Police Forces(CAPF) in addition to the 3000 odd State Police personnel will be deployed throughout the State during the upcoming elections.
