The Mahayuti alliance, comprising the BJP, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction), and the Ajit Pawar-led NCP, focused on developmental schemes such as the Majhi Ladki Bahin program. Meanwhile, the MVA coalition, led by Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and the Sharad Pawar-led NCP, campaigned on issues like caste-based census and social justice.

The number of candidates increased by 28% compared to 2019, with 2,086 independents and over 150 rebels contesting against party-backed candidates. Model Code of Conduct Enforcement
