BJP indulging in ‘satta jihad’: Uddhav Thackeray
Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray on Saturday accused the BJP of engaging in "satta jihad (power jihad)", claiming that the party is trying to gain power by breaking other parties. Thackeray made these remarks while addressing party leaders d...

Addressing party leaders during a two-day conclave in Pune, he said, "Modi is asking Congress what it did in the last 60 years? I want to ask them what have you done? The new Parliament is leaking, Ram Mandir is leaking, there are paper leaks, this is a leaky government." The UBT Sena faction is organising the Pune conclave with an eye on the upcoming assembly polls as it wants to make inroads in western Maharashtra.
Thackeray also clarified that his comment last week that "either you will remain or I will remain", was meant for the BJP and not BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis. "My words were misunderstood, I meant the BJP. You (Fadnavis) are not even competent enough to fight with me. We don't fight with bed bugs, we crush them," said Thackeray.
Thackeray likened home minister Amit Shah to Ahmad Shah Abdali and said that his party will give a resounding defeat to the BJP in the assembly polls that would dwarf the upset that the BJP got in the Lok Sabha polls in Maharashtra. "They keep claiming that I have left Hindutva, their Shyama Prasad Mookerjee joined hands with the Muslim League in Bengal, the same Muslim League that was involved in the country's partition.
The Sena (UBT) leader said that the BJP was creating discord between communities and religions, and regretted that the Sena UBT was once an ally of the BJP and helped it to come to power.
