BMC Declares Holiday for Voting
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced a public holiday on November 20 for employees of businesses and offices under its jurisdiction. The move is intended to facilitate voter participation.“If any person is found violating the order, strict action shall be taken against the employers,” said BMC Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani.
This restriction follows an earlier dry day on November 12, observed on the occasion of Kartik Ekadashi, reinforcing the emphasis on maintaining decorum during significant events.
The measures underscore the authorities' commitment to ensuring a smooth and fair election process in the state.
