The Congress party on Sunday released a new list of 14 candidates for the Maharashtra assembly elections scheduled for November 20, which includes two replacements. With this announcement, Congress, a part of the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance, has now declared a total of 99 candidates.

Notably, Congress has replaced party leader Sachin Sawant in the Andheri (West) constituency of Mumbai with former MLA Ashok Jadhav. Additionally, Lahu Shewale will run in place of Madhukar Deshmukh for the Aurangabad East seat.

Among the other candidates announced, Congress has nominated Pravin Kakade to represent Warora in Chandrapur district. This comes on the heels of the recent Lok Sabha elections, where Warora MLA Pratibha Dhanorkar, also from Congress, was elected as the MP for the Chandrapur constituency.


Sanjay Meshram will contest from the Umred seat, where former Congress MLA Raju Parve left the party to run for the Ramtek Lok Sabha elections as a candidate for Shiv Sena.

  2. Umred (SC): Sanjay Narayanrao Meshram
  3. Armori (ST): Ramdas Masram
  4. Chandrapur (SC): Pravin Nanaji Padwekar
  5. Ballarpur: Santoshsingh Chandansingh Rawat
  6. Warora: Pravin Suresh Kakade
  7. Nanded North: Abdul Sattar Abdul Gafur
  8. Aurangabad East: Lahu H. Shewale (replacing Madhukar Deshmukh)
  9. Nalasopara: Sandeep Pandey
  10. Andheri West: Ashok Jadhav (replacing Sachin Sawant)
  11. Shivajinagar: Dattatrey Bahirat
  12. Pune Cantonment (SC): Ramesh Anandrao Bhagwe
  13. Solapur South: Dilip Brahmadev Mane
  14. Pandharpur: Bhagirath Bhalke
