"Every (BJP) state has made laws against conversion, BJP (state unit) will form an internal committee after the formation of the Mahayuti government. The government will also form a committee and after discussions with all stakeholders will bring in a stringent law that would lead to zero conversions," Shah said.
He said this on Sunday while releasing the BJP manifesto in Mumbai. The BJP manifesto speaks of bringing in a "strict law against forced and fraudulent conversions".
The manifesto promised that like the Ladki Bahin Scheme, senior citizens will also see their old age pension hiked from ₹1,500 to ₹2,100. To woo the farmers, the party has assured that if farmers get lesser price than the MSP, then the state would deposit the shortfall below the MSP and the price to which it was sold in the farmers accounts directly.
The BJP has also said that it would intervene to keep the prices of essentials stable. Farmers who pay for fertilisers will have their SGST component reimbursed by the state. The party has promised that 10 lakh students would be given a stipend of ₹10,000 and job opportunities and has set a target of 25 lakh jobs.
For new business entrepreneurs from the SC, ST and OBC communities, the state would provide interest-free loans up to Rs 15 lakh.
There will be reimbursement of tuition and examination fees for OBC, EWS, Socially and Educated Backward Class, Notified Tribes and Vimukta Jati Nomadic Tribes category students. A skill census to analyse the skills of the youths in the state would also be implemented.
Also on the anvil is a 'reduction in electricity bills' by 30% by lighting up homes with solar and renewable energy.
