Anti-reservation front Sapaks fails to creat a buzz

An anti-reservation front, which had played the disruptor with protests against Union government’s amendment to SC-ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, Sapaks has been unable to create a buzz. In Chhindwara, Sapaks has fielded candidates in three of the seven Assembly segments — Dharmendra Sahu from Saunsar , Anil Jain from Chaurai and Dinesh Rajput from Chhindwara city. However, there is no resonance. In the main market, traders knew about Sapaks but openly said MP would always be a direct fight between Congress and BJP. “It is a straight fight. Such parties come and go but we know we need a stable government,” said Prakash, owner of a garments store.
Wall paintings, banner, posters, moving campaign vans are all buzzing with only BJP and Congress messages. In rural constituencies, Sapaks is fairly unknown. Sapaks district president Nitin Jain, however, puts up a brave front. “There is a strong undercurrent against both the major political players over issues raised by us. A very big section of the society is with us. You will see when the results come.”
