Police have registered a case against a probationary Sub-Inspector and two others for allegedly manhandling a SHO on duty outside the venue of a rally addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Thiruvalla, officials said on Monday.

The case has been registered against Krishna Mohan, a probationary Sub-Inspector posted at a police station in Thiruvananthapuram, along with two others.

According to police, the complainant is Sreelal Chandrasekharan, Station House Officer of Koduman police station.

The incident occurred on April 4 evening when Modi addressed an election rally at the Municipal Stadium in Thiruvalla.

Chandrasekharan and his team were deployed at the entrance of the stadium to regulate entry to the venue.

Police said Mohan, who was not on duty, arrived at the venue along with two others. They were stopped by the SHO and his team, following which Mohan allegedly insisted on entering the venue. When entry was denied, a scuffle broke out.
