Modi will visit Thiruvananthpauram on Saturday where he will also hold a roadshop for about 1.5 km before addressing a public meeting. The ride will cover the assembly constituencies of Thiruvananthapuram Central and Nemom.
BJP state president Rajeev Chandrasekhar is contesting from Nemom, which the party is hopeful of winning again. O Rajagopal created history by winning this seat in 2016 and reviving hopes for the BJP in both Kerala’s capital and in other places.
This is Modi’s second visit to Thiruvananthapuram and fourth to Kerala this calendar year. He first visited on January 23 after the BJP captured power in the city corporation in Kerala’s capital in last year’s local body polls. Last Sunday, the PM held roadshows and addressed meetings in Palakkad and Thrissur as the BJP estimates to net one seat each in these two cities.
Modi’s Saturday’s event in Thiruvananthapuram is expected to draw BJP workers and voters from Pattanamthitta, Alappuzha and Kottayam districts.
On the same day, Modi will also address a rally in Thiruvalla in Pathanamthitta district.
