Kerala Assembly Elections 2026: 'People are ready for change,' says Rajeev Chandrasekhar
The Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday unveiled its first list of 47 candidates for the forthcoming Kerala Legislative Assembly Election 2026, nominating several prominent leaders including former Union minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar and former state president K. Surendran.

The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, and other members of the party’s Central Election Committee.

Chandrasekhar has been nominated from the Nemom constituency, while Surendran will contest from Manjeshwar. The list also features former national Mahila Morcha chief Sobha Surendran, who has been fielded from Palakkad.

Other notable candidates include Navya Haridas from Kozhikode North and Padmaja Venugopal from Thrissur.

The nominees announced by the party represent constituencies across the state, including Manjeshwar, Udma, Kannur, Vadakara, Kozhikode North, Palakkad, Thrissur, Pala, Haripad, Thiruvalla, Attingal, Kazhakkoottam and Kattakkada, among others.
