Tripura State Rifles to be deployed for Jharkhand assembly elections

TSR, known as the elite counter-insurgency force of Tripura, is part of the Central Armed Police Force. The TSR has 14 battalions, most of which are Indian Reserve (IR) battalions, available for deployment across India per MHA requirements.
Previously, TSR personnel were deployed for security during the Lok Sabha elections held from April 19 to June 1 in Maharashtra, Bihar, Odisha, and Himachal Pradesh. Additionally, two TSR battalions, approximately 2,000 personnel including officers, have been stationed in the national capital under the authority of Delhi Police since 2019 and in South Eastern Coalfields Ltd (SECL) in Chhattisgarh since 2022.
Voting for the Jharkhand Assembly is scheduled for November 13 and 20, with vote counting set on November 23.
