Nowshera J&K assembly election results 2024: State BJP chief Ravinder Raina vs Surinder Kumar; Here's who is leading

Jammu and Kashmir BJP chief Ravinder Raina is trailing in the Nowshera assembly constituency, while former Deputy chief minister and Congress candidate Tara Chand is behind his rivals in the Chhamb seat, according to the Election Commission website. Former J-K Congress Chief Vikar Rasool Wani is also trailing from Banihal.

According to the trends available on the Election Commission website around 10.45 am, the J-K BJP chief has polled 5,142 votes and is trailing the National Conference's Surinder Choudhary by 7,721 votes.

With the counting currently underway, the trends by the Election Commission of India have indicated that in Jammu and Kashmir, the Jammu Kashmir National Conference and Congress alliance has crossed the halfway mark with leads in 47 seats as per trends released by the Elections commission at 10:15 AM.


As per the election commission data between 3-5 rounds of counting has been completed in most of the 90 constituencies in the region.

Meanwhile the Bharatiya Janata Partyis leading in 28 seats as of 10:15 AM.

The voting results decide the electoral fate of several former ministers including Tara Chand, Muzaffar Baig, Raman Bhalla, Basharat Bukha along with Omar Abdullah, Ravinder Raina, Yousuf Tarigami and several others.

Former JK CM Omar Abdullah said that the alliance was in pole position and urged the BJP not to play an dirty tricks.

Nowshera Assembly constituency is one of the 90 seats in the Legislative Assembly of Jammu and Kashmir, part of the northern Union Territory of India. It also belongs to the Anantnag–Rajouri Lok Sabha constituency.
