Jammu and Kashmir Elections: BJP releases list for first phase with 16 names

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday announced its revised first list for the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections featuring 15 candidates for the first phase. The party later released another list with one name.

Key names included Er. Syed Showkat Gayoor Andrabi from Pampore, Mohd. Rafiq Wani from Anantnag West among others.

Earlier today, the party had withdrawn its first list featuring 44 candidates across all three phases.


Jammu and Kashmir will be voting in three phases on September 18, 25, and October 1, marking the first time since the abrogation of Article 370. The counting of votes is scheduled for October 4.
