BJP's Ram Madhav has good relation with PDP: Omar Abdullah

Srinagar: Former CM of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah on Monday said that BJP's Ram Madhav has good relations with the PDP as he played a key role in stitching the PDP-BJP alliance in 2015.

Abdullah, while speaking to reporters here said that BJP would have a better idea of why exactly Madhav has been sent here. After the announcement of assembly elections in J&K, the BJP announced Madhav along with the Union minister G Kishan Reddy as party's election incharges for the Union Territory. "There is no doubt that if Ram Madhav has good relations with any political party here, it is the PDP. Ram Madhav was responsible for bringing PDP-BJP together in 2015 and 2016 on one platform. He stitched the alliance, it seems he is back for this reason," said Abdullah. When asked about the possibility of PDP-BJP alliance again Abdullah said, "Let PDP get the seats first."

The NC vice president, while referring to the recent remarks of the former Governor of J&K Satya Pal Malik, regarding the appointment of Madhav to oversee the BJP election campaign here, said that Malik had very close ties with BJP and would have a better idea about the situation. "Malik was sent by BJP and whatever happened in 2019 occurred under his leadership. He said only the BJP can confirm whether Madhav was sent to form an alliance with the PDP," said Abdullah. The NC leader, while reacting to a Hurriyat leader joining the PDP, said that it is significant development that the separatists have developed trust in democracy, which only proves the pro-election political parties right.
