Kharge was addressing an election rally in Anantnag district, where he was accompanied by NC chief Farooq Abdullah and other Congress leaders, including KC Venugopal and Subodh Kant.
"Modi and Shah keep telling lies and repeat jumlas, especially during elections. They are running an unstable government on one leg," said Kharge, adding, "This is why they are frustrated by INDIA bloc and the unity of Congress and NC."
Kharge also promised five guarantees, including ₹5 lakh interest-free loan for women entrepreneurs and ₹25 lakh health insurance for every family. He promised ₹3,000 per month to women heads of families and restoration of 11 kg grain/person via the public distribution system.
Kharge also promised rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandit migrants as was done during the term of Manmohan Singh government and rights of OBCs as enshrined in the Constitution. He reiterated that Congress would strive for restoration of statehood and a bicameral legislature in the Union Territory. "They (BJP) keep asking how we will do it? When people are with us, we will do it as it is people's power," he said.
NC and Congress have entered into a pre-poll arrangement in which NC will contest 51 seats and Congress 32. There will be a friendly contest on five seats and a seat each has been earmarked for CPIM in Kashmir and Panthers Party in Jammu.
