Tosham assembly election results 2024: BJP's Shruti Choudhry defeats cousin and Cong candidate by 14K votes

BJP has won the Tosham Assembly constituency in the 2024 Haryana assembly election. Located in the Western Haryana Plains, Tosham joined the state in casting votes on October 5, along with 89 other constituencies.

This year, the Tosham Assembly constituency saw a battle between two members of former Chief Minister Bansi Lal’s political family.

The Congress had fielded Anirudh Chaudhary against his cousin, Shruti Choudhry, the BJP candidate. Both are grandchildren of Bansi Lal. In past elections, Shruti’s mother, Kiran Choudhry, has held the seat for the Congress, leveraging the family’s political legacy.


As per EC data, Shruti Choudhry has won the seat in the 2024 polls defeating the Congress candidate by 14257 votes.

In the 2019 assembly election, Kiran Choudhry of the Indian National Congress won the seat, securing 72,699 votes with a vote share of 50%. She defeated her opponent by a margin of 18,059 votes, with 146,204 total votes cast in the constituency.

Various exit polls have predicted a strong performance for the Congress party in the 2024 Haryana assembly elections.
